M.W. Bevins Company was established in 1957 and has been supplying Chance with our testers since 1961. These testers were developed for the safety and protection of the lineman. Our product line includes the original analog-phasing tester, which was invented by Marvin Bevins in 1943. In the last fifty years, we have developed several original products. The Line Fault Locator in conjunction with Kenneth Mark was introduced in 1965, to locate underground faults. The Multi-Range Voltage Detector was introduced in 1975, which determines quickly if any voltage is present. Bushing and elbow adapters were developed to allow the use of phasing testers and indicators safety in underground cabinets. The Hi-Pot Adapter was introduced in 1978 to help determine if an underground cable is faulted. In 1998, Mike Cotner V.P., redesigned the Current-Leakage Monitor to ensure the line crew's safety. We are the manufacturer of several other safety related testers:
M.W. Bevins Co. is the manufacturer of the Electronic Sectionalizer for Hubbell Chance since 1996. With the combined efforts of M.W. Bevins Co. and the Chance Engineering department a resettable unit was developed, which allows the unit to be reset in the field without replacing any parts. This new design also increased the reset time up to two minutes, to work in conjunction with most automatic circuit reclosers in use today. We will strive to continue in the research and development of new products and the enhancement of our current products to provide you with the best quality and reliability on the market today.
